well, I'm just asking for an extra brown dry tissue that they serve on the table , due to I accidentally spilled source on my phone, and supervior said we don't give out tissues at all, we don't have any dry tissues... and she seems so impatient.the customer service here is getting bad to worse.Food is tasteless, too , very disappointed.

Don't waste your money. The food is sub standard n the price is on the high side. I had siew mai, har know, porridge, glutinous rice, chee chiong fun n a pot of tea (2 persons) n it cost 61+. Please do not go. I'd rather spend a bit more on good food elsewhere.

Food are OK. But the pricing are on the higher side. Like the 70's, 80's atmosphere there.

Alright, folks, listen up! Donkey and I were craving some authentic dim sum, and we decided to head to Red Star Restaurant at Block 54 Chin Swee Road. We'd heard about this old-school dim sum spot that's been around for ages, and we were eager to experience the traditional pushcart service. What We Loved:• The Ambiance: We stepped into Red Star Restaurant and were immediately transported back in time. The warm, familiar scent of steaming dim sum filled the air. We were greeted by friendly aunties pushing their carts around, offering a variety of delicious dim sum dishes. It was so nostalgic, and we could feel the energy and excitement of a bygone era.• The Service: The real highlight, however, was the service. The aunties in the restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive. They'd walk up to our table with their pushcarts, checking to see if we wanted to add anything. We were impressed that they would wait patiently for us to finish our food before coming back to ask if we needed anything else.• The Suckling Pig: We ordered the suckling pig, which was delicious - crispy, juicy, and flavorful. I especially loved it, as I rarely see suckling pig in dim sum restaurants. The auntie had told us that it was a must-try, and she was right!• The Char Siu Bao: I really enjoyed the char siu bao, especially the skin.• The Value: The dim sum prices were very reasonable, with most items costing about $5.60, except for the premium items like the suckling pig, which was $25 a plate. We had Chrysanthemum Tea, which was fragrant and hot - a perfect compliment to the dim sum. Our total bill was $83.80 after adding the surcharge, GST, and service charge. What We Didn't Love:• The Longan Pudding: Donkey found the longan pudding dessert a bit strange in taste. Personally, when I tasted it, it felt like it’s made of milk. I didn't quite like it though.Donkey's Take: I loved the atmosphere at Red Star Restaurant. It felt like I was transported back in time.My Take: The suckling pig was the best dim sum I've had in a long time!Rating:• Food: 4/5 (Delicious dim sum, especially the suckling pig)• Service: 5/5 (Friendly, attentive, and traditional pushcart service)• Atmosphere: 4/5 (Nostalgic and charming)Overall: 4/5Our Verdict: Overall, we recommend Red Star Restaurant for a unique and memorable dim sum experience. It is a true hidden gem that transports you back to the golden age of dim sum. dim sum experience. If you're looking for a taste of old-school Singapore, this is a must-visit.

Kitty and I were craving some authentic dim sum, and we decided to head to Red Star Restaurant at Block 54 Chin Swee Road. We'd heard about this old-school dim sum spot that's been around for ages, and we were eager to experience the traditional pushcart service. The restaurant itself is a bit of a hidden gem, located on the 7th floor of a HDB building. We parked our bikes on the 3rd level of the car park and took the lift up to the 7th floor. Kitty was surprised to find that the restaurant was on the 7th floor. It turns out that the restaurant's kitchen is actually on the 7th floor, while the main dining area is located on the other side of the car park. To get there, you have to go down the stairs, walk across the car park, and then go back up to the main entrance. It was my first time going through the lift, and I was surprised by the setup. We stepped into Red Star Restaurant and were immediately transported back in time. The warm, familiar scent of steaming dim sum filled the air. We were greeted by friendly aunties pushing their carts around, offering a variety of delicious dim sum dishes. It was so nostalgic, and we could feel the energy and excitement of a bygone era.The real highlight, however, was the service. The aunties in the restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were impressed that they would wait patiently for us to finish our food before coming back to ask if we needed anything else.We ordered the suckling pig, which was delicious - crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Kitty especially loved it, saying she rarely sees suckling pig in dim sum restaurants. The auntie had told us that it was a must-try, and he was right! We also ordered egg tarts, char siu bao, chicken feet, pork ribs, and shrimp chee cheong fun and porridge. Kitty really enjoyed the char siu bao, especially the skin, while I found the longan pudding dessert a bit strange in taste. Kitty mentioned its made of milk. I didn't quite like it thou. The restaurant has a very old-school, nostalgic feel that will appeal to anyone who remembers dim sum from the 70s and 80s. The aunties pushing their carts around really added to the charm. The dim sum prices were very reasonable, with most items costing about $5.60, except for the premium items like the suckling pig, which was $25 a plate. We had Chrysanthemum Tea, which was fragrant and hot - a perfect compliment to the dim sum. I heard this restaurant serves dim sum for lunch, so I went there. There are no reservations, so it's a walk-in.It's in a building in the Chinatown area. There's a large sign, so it's easy to find. The elevator was small.I went there around 1pm on Sunday, and I waited 15-minutes in the waiting space. There are many round tables in a large hall, and a staff member pushing a cart distributes the food. Some of the staff only spoke Chinese. They gave me jasmine tea, but it was very hot, so be careful. You can also ask the staff for water. The spring rolls, dim sum, egg tarts, etc. were all delicious. However, each dish was three pieces, which was too much for two people, so it was a shame that we couldn't eat many dishes. It seems like it would be good to go with three or more people. It was a very good experience to be able to enjoy delicious dim sum at a good price.I would like to go again with three or more people next time.

Red Star Restaurant is a solid choice for classic Cantonese cuisine with a touch of elegance. The dim sum selection is particularly impressive, featuring freshly made, flavourful dumplings and buns that are consistently well-executed. The main courses, such as the roast pork and steamed fish, are equally satisfying, with generous portions and authentic flavours. The ambience is refined, making it a great spot for both special occasions and casual gatherings. Service is attentive, though it can occasionally be slow during busy times. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and overall dining experience make it a worthwhile visit for anyone seeking delicious Cantonese fare.
